Language Admins

Language Admins

Hi guys,

those of you who haven’t read my previous post about lang admins and who they are, please read my first post first – here.

Several of you volunteered to be a lang admin. In some cases several people wanted to be the lang admin for the same language, in which case I had to make a decision. Having more than one would create inconsistency, and that is exactly what I want to avoid. Please do not feel insulted if you were not chosen I had to make a decision, I looked at how many translations you submitted, how good your English is (in case someone needs help in your language I need to be able to explain things to you) and how long you have been using Meteotemplate. Also, this does not mean you can only translate if you are the language admin. Anyone can translate, this will not change. The only change will be that instead of me reviewing the translations, it will be the lang admin (ideal  because obviously I cannot review languages I don’t know, I can check that it looks ok, but if it really is was a question).

I will send an email to all language admins explaining what their tasks will be. Most importantly you will be reviewing new/existing translations and also in case someone needs help on the forum and is unable to ask in English, you should ideally from time to time watch the forum section in your language.

If your language is not on the list below and you would like to be the language admin, please read my first post (link above) and if you fulfill the pre-requisits you are more than welcome to send me an email and I will make you the admin.

  1. Hi Jachym
Following the example of what is currently beeing done with american english & british english as 2 separete countries/languages, and since you said that you could easily create a new country/language for Brazil, you can also count on me for the “Brazilian Portuguese” 🙂

    • Thank you very much Jeff. Jay has also volunteered and given you are both absolutely suitable for this, the only way to decide I can think of in this case is first come first serve… Jay emailed me 15 minutes before you commented…
