Hi guys,
if you remember I previously mentioned that I want to concentrate on optimizing the template and improving the already existing things. That is what version 8 was mostly about.
Now it is time for the plugins and blocks. I will go through all the blocks and plugins and add new features and make sure they all work – also taking into account what some of you suggested or simply what I find useful. Also many things I wanted to do right at the beginning but didn´t know how to.
So here is a list of blocks I have just updated and improved.
Block Update – Calendar 2.0
In the updated calendar block I introduced a new parameter that you specify in the settings, which decides whether you want to use meteorological or astronomical seasons. The astronomical seasons are the ones that the block used before and it corresponds to season beginning/end at equinox or solastice. In meteorology however, we use the 1st day of the month, you can now set that. If you are updating the block, simply replace all files and go through the Settings.
Block Update – Calendar – Month
In the new monthly calendar block, there are two new parameters. In addition to the current month with today´s day highlighted, you can now specify the number of previous and subsequent months you want to display and this is displayed when the user clicks the “more” link. If you are updating the block, simply replace all files and go through the Settings.
Block Update – Clock (analog)
I totally redesigned the analog clock block. The original one was not very nice and in addition, did not scale properly. Now you have a brand new clocks. I prepared over 20 different clock faces, including some very old-looking ones, wooden faces, but also some very modern looking ones. To update the block, delete the entire clock folder from your blocks section and upload the new one. Then go to the Blocks section and there is a screenshot of all the available designs. Each design has a number: 1, 2, 3…. Once you upload the block, go to the Settings and just specify the number you want to use. Choose the one you like the most!
