A new plugin is now available called “Space Weather”.
Features:
– display of current data about the Sun (solar wind speed, magnetic field, radio flux) updated minutely
– alerts related to the Sun
– tables and graphs with recent solar related events (flares etc.)
– description of the parameters
Installation:
– no need to set up anything, just follow the standard procedure for installing updates described in the wiki
Hmm, I suppose I could have a cron job wget it into a local file and then read it from there…bit kludgy…
Hi,
I’m not sure my “Current Solar Data” section is working? Just got red dots and no figures…do I need to do anything else?

Thanks.
Hi Jake,
yes I see the problem. This is unfortunately due to the fact the plugin is currently incompatible with https. I will see if it would be possible to make it compatible (obviously Im a big fan of https too), but I cannot guarantee since this always also depends on the data source.
Hmmm… the source is N/A over https, look:
http://services.swpc.noaa.gov/products/summary/solar-wind-speed.json
https://services.swpc.noaa.gov/products/summary/solar-wind-speed.json
I will see, but this doesnt look very promising
Very nice Jachym. Extremely easy to add in to plugins, and then just add to menu.php and edit lang for new title.
Well done again|!
Paul
Hi,
Im glad you like it, making installation as easy as possible is one of my goals when developing it and just as mentioned in the wiki, once the tricky part of setting up MySQL and CRON is done, it is as easy as 123 to set up the template and install new stuff.
