So far the update seems to be working fine so I issued tokens to everyone who has asked for one.

First thing I want to talk about is the new IP restriction feature.

In the Main settings you can now specify a particular IP(s) or IP range(s) and then, it will only be possible to log in as admin from those IP addresses. This should further enhance the security, however, use this with caution.

First, make sure your internet provider does not often change your IP. If so, then make sure you use a range instead of a particular IP. And if your IP changes often and there is no pattern in it, then unfortunately you must leave this disabled.

Likewise, in case you enable this and need help from me in the future, if I ask you for the admin password because I need to check something, you will also need to temporarily disable this so that I can get in as well.

Last but not least, an obvious question:

What do I do if my IP does not match the one specified in the Main settings and I cannot change it because I cannot get in at all?

The solution in this case is to use an FTP client, download the config.php in your template root folder and then look for a parameter enableAdminIP, you will surely find it and just change it from “true” to “false”. Then upload it back replacing the original config.php and log in using your admin password and do whatever change you need to in the Main settings.

Please note – as mentioned before this is not essential, if you use different admin and update password, and it is a strong one, you should be fine.

Hi guys, in the few upcoming posts I will just briefly explain some of the new features.
