Hi guys,
up until now, meteotemplate.com (including the site as such, the demo, download pages etc.) was running PHP 5.4. I thought it was time to upgrade to 5.6, which is now the standard, but in the end I decided to go a step further.
Meteotemplate.com now runs completely using PHP 7.0. This is the most recent version of PHP, which is in some functions up to 60% faster – and yes you can even see it, the demo does run significantly faster.
If you have the possibility to upgrade to this PHP version, then I highly recommend you do so. I have not found any problems yet – if you do, please let me know. I also use external webhosting provider so I assume this is now widely available option if you use some decent provider.
The lowest PHP version supported by Meteotemplate 10.0 Banana remains to be 5.4. Version 5.3 only works with Meteotemplate 9.0 and lower. PHP 5.3 is now 7 years old, which in terms of computers is like stone age and web in 2009 looked very different.
Enjoy
Ok for me with PHP 7.0 (I was running PHP 5.6 before)
