Meteotemplate 13.0 Lemon

Hi guys,

as mentioned in a previous post, this is a very minor update, I only needed to add some things to the index file, which will greatly increase potential for new blocks / block improvements. I have also fixed one minor bug in one of the pages.

I am primarily now working on version 14, which should be ready probably in a few weeks. I started working on version 12 in December, and I only wanted this to be about the api, which was problematic and required co-ordination and synchronization with other developers. I have started working on version 14 in January after your suggestions from the questionnaire. However I decided to release this one extra update with just the very few files because of the potential it will bring.

The update should take you maybe 10 seconds – only replace the index files, the footers and the one page from the pages/station directory, which has a minor bug in it (thanks Gus for letting me know).

I also disabled the token requirement, which means that this particular update (12->13) does NOT require a download token (others do as well as the whole template file).

V14 will be the next major update and I can already tell you that you really have something to look for and Im very excited about what I have already 🙂

Enjoy

  1. Hi
well it seems ok now, but the browser console and missing files has caught me off guard. I thought I had put everything on but it is possible I missed something.

    • Hi Harold,
so, just to clarify. When you use currentUK, your webcam and gauges stop working. Removing this block solves the problem. Adding it back in any column results in the two blocks not loading again, right?

      • Hi
it was the summary and gauges blocks that had the problem with the currentUK block, I did not get around to trying it in different columns, I only put it back in the centre column. one thing I did notice at the time last night when I was trying this was that currentUK was not seeing any data and the cache file had Access Denied in it. I have just put it in the left column and will see what happens all working at present.

        thanks

just put the update on mine but the gauges block on the right is not displaying the gauges and the summary info under my webcam in centre coloum is showing everything both were ok prior to the update

    • Hi Harold,
none of what is changed in v13 could affect this. Your page behaves strangely. I tried loading it 3 times and 2/3 it showed the incorrect full text under summay, but once it showed it correctly, just by refreshing it. I can try doing some testing, but I need a better PC for this, my laptop had hard time just to load your page not to mention doing some testing. However I also see some missing files in the browser console, which would suggest one of previous updates was not done completely, in particular some fonts are missing. Something is throwing an error in one of the blocks, but it is hard to tell which one and given it once worked it would suggest your server does not load some files in time. I will look at it tomorrow, but what would be useful is if you could copy your homepage setup somewhere, then delete your homepage blocks and just include the two problematic ones and see if they work, separately and together, to make sure it is an error in one of those two, then you can copy back your original setting.

      • Hi
i ment to get back sooner on this but my ups failed its self test and everything shutdown and not everything restarts on power restore while i was out today.
the two blocks worked ok when they were only ones on the page, i then restored the page and remove everything on the right colum except gauges still failled, i then remove everthing except summary from the centre and eveything left worked ok restore right colum still ok after a bit more work on the centre section i found the currentUK block was the cause so have left it off that page have put it on the mobile for now.
i have done 1 pass of the files to check for missing ones but could not see any will have another look tomorrow with a fuul download of the template folder

        thanks
        Harold

  3. Sounds exciting! Thanks for the continuous updates, improvements and super-quick technical support. I would urge any weather enthusiasts to install this template and most importantly donate something to Jachym in recognition of his incredible work.
