Hi guys,
finally I managed to come up with some warnings block for the U.K., originally I wanted to use the official XML feed provided by MetOffice, however the problem is that all it provides is the date, affected areas, level and name (rain, hail etc.) and no details about it whatsoever. This would be useless since this can already be achieved by the regional EU warnings block from Meteoalarm. In the end I therefore decided to do it slightly differently and in a more complicated way, but having it tested by one of you, surprisingly it seems to work fine.
Enjoy
It was not working for me and at least one other due to a problem with our servers apparently, and Jachym has fixed it for us by altering the script slightly.
However, mine is not showing any warnings for today…
Hi WessexWeather, the warningsUK block definitely works, I have had two warnings showing most of today, the Northern Ireland one disappeared at about eight this evening, leaving one in force for various areas across England until 9am tomorrow.
Check out Jáchym’s suggestion, it may well resolve your problem.
This block doesn’t appear to be working – it shows no Met Office warnings whereas they have issued rainfall warnings across Southern England. The old Meteoalarm block is correctly showing these warnings.
Hi,
I am 100% sure it works fine, if I remember correctly, did you have issues with MetOffice blocks before? I think it is the same problem. Have a look in the cache folder and see if you have some file there and if so, have a look what is inside it.
